Coronavirus: business grants and insurance update

National Restrictions Business Grants

The recently announced grants for businesses forced to close from 5th January 2021 can be clamed as soon as your local authority application process is open.

For BANES, this is Friday 22nd January with applications to be made here.

For Wiltshire, if you have applied for a grant previously, the new grant should automatically be paid from 20th January. If you need to apply, you can do so here.

For businesses in other areas, please check the website of your local authority.

Business Interruption Insurance

Following the supreme court hearing, insurance companies are wading through the outcome. You should log a potential claim with your insurers or broker immediately. Some insurance companies, such as NFU, have already said it doesn't apply to them, so any claims will be decided on a policy by policy basis.

For further advice or if you would like help with your grant claim, then please call us on 01225 325580, email info@richardsonswift.co.uk, or contact your usual client director.
